Posted on: August 16, 2011

Physicians from throughout Cook County are invited to register for the upcoming National and Local Breastfeeding Initiatives: Physicians’ Update, a dinner event to unveil a new Illinois breastfeeding policy statement to physician stakeholders and to introduce Baby-Friendly hospital initiatives across Cook County. This event will be held the evening of Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at Rush University Medical Center’s Professional Building, and will feature presentations from Baby-Friendly USA and others.

ICAAP and its partner organizations are working to improve hospital breastfeeding practices across the region by implementing Baby-Friendly steps and increasing the number of hospitals achieving the Baby-Friendly USA designation.

Capacity for this event is limited – to register or learn more, please visit the online registration page or call Billy Kalb at 312/733-1026 ext. 232.

National and Local Breastfeeding Initiatives: Physicians’ Update is being hosted by the Illinois Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics; the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians; and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists; and is co-sponsored by the Cook County Department of Public Health’s Committees Putting Prevention to Work and the Chicago Department of Public Health’s Healthy Places.
