Reach Out and Read Illinois is pleased to announce the launch of a redesigned and interactive website to serve health professionals and families interested in early literacy. This effort by Reach Out and Read Illinois seeks to further promote its mission of preparing Illinois children to succeed in school by partnering with doctors to prescribe books and encourage families to read together. Reach Out and Read Illinois is a nonprofit organization that promotes evidence-based early literacy and school readiness programming in pediatric exam rooms nationwide. Reach Out and Read clinics and practices use the opportunity of the doctor visit to give new books to children and advice to parents about the importance of reading aloud.
