An All-Out Assault on Autism: Treating ASD with Comprehensive Care

The article “An All-Out Assault on Autism,” prominently featured Autism Speaks Autism Treatment Network (ATN) in the U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals 2013 edition. The ATN is a group of institutions recognized by Autism Speaks for comprehensive care involving many different specialists.

Research by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) indicate that intense early intervention can make a significant difference in cognitive and communication skills, language development, anxiety, and aggressiveness in children with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD).  Clinicians  also find that managing conditions commonly associated with ASD, such as epilepsy and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), allow early intervention therapies to have a greater impact.
