This training – Assessment and Treatment of Eating Disorders: Empowering Physicians to be part of the Treatment Team – will address the role of the pediatrician in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric eating disorders, with a focus on the Family-Based Treatment (FBT) approach (Maudsley Method). This evidence-based treatment is recommended as a first-line approach for adolescents with anorexia nervosa. The training is being conducted by Dr. Karen Bernstein, MD, MPH, FAAP, Kristen Anderson, LCSW, Sara Desai, LCSW, and Dr. Cathy Joyce, MD, PhD. The trainers have extensive clinical experience treating adolescents with eating disorders utilizing the FBT method. Registration fee is $20.
