A consortium of over 30 literacy agencies operating in and around Chicago. The Alliance was formed with a collective passion to help people of all ages and backgrounds receive the critical literacy support they need to combat Chicago’s ongoing (and vast!) literacy crisis. Between them, the member agencies of the CLA include voices from influential literacy-focused organizations across the city, and represent extensive practical knowledge and expertise in every category of literacy programming. Founded in 2009, the Chicago Literacy Alliance launched its Chicago Reads initiative in 2011.

Protects all children from vaccine preventable diseases by raising parental awareness of the critical need for timely infant immunizations, fostering the establishment of systematic method to locate and immunize children, and providing convenient access to immunization services in the future.
Dedicated to promoting and improving the health and well-being of infants, children, mothers and families through advocacy, education, community empowerment, policy development and collaborative partnerships of public and private organizations.
Works to increase immunization rates and prevent disease by creating and distributing educational materials for health professionals and the public that enhance the delivery of safe and effective immunization services. The Coalition also facilitates communication about the safety, efficacy, and use of vaccines within the broad immunization community of patients, parents, health care organizations, and government health agencies.
To promote the learning of parenting skills by all children & teens, thereby increasing nurturing & relationship skills to improve the quality of parenting in the next generation and create caring classroom environments that facilitate learning today.
