The webinar will address the scope and implications of state government actions on immigration, especially the new anti-immigration Florida law ( SB1718) requiring hospitals that accept Medicaid to collect information on patient immigration status. The presenters will provide an on-the-ground perspective on how healthcare entities are implementing the law, explore the potential threat to the health and safety of immigrants, discuss the ethnical challenges to healthcare institutions and professionals, and the avenues for potential actions to reduce its impact and prevent the passage of similar laws in other states.
