The Midwest Human Rights Consortium (MHRC) is a referral network of multi-institutional and interdisciplinary professionals who perform trauma-informed forensic evaluations for individuals seeking asylum in the U.S that operates under ICAAP’s Refugee Immigrant Child Health Initiative (RICHI).
Presenters will present a case involving a 13-yo teenager who fled from Mexico with her siblings (unaccompanied), escaping gang and severe child abuse. This case presentation will include information about collaboration with the attorney, plans to complete the evaluation and challenges that presented themselves, review of medical and psychological affidavits, and feedback from the attorney.
