Advocacy

ICAAP advocates on behalf of children and pediatricians in Illinois. We focus on issues pertaining to the health and well-being of children, such as access to medical care, Medicaid improvements for physicians and children, immunizations, school health, injury prevention, and environmental health.

If you are interested in becoming involved in advocacy, consider joining ICAAP's Committee on Governmental Affairs. This statewide committee meets several times per year via conference call to discuss pending legislation in Springfield, and plan ICAAP's policy agenda. ICAAP Members in Action: Pediatric Advocacy Day 2023

Reach

REACH is an advocacy presentation developed for pediatric residents to provide an overview of advocacy at the state level. The presentation provides an update on legislation that affects children and providers and equips attendees with tools needed to become advocates for children. Although developed for residents, it is great information for anyone wanting to learn more about advocacy and is open to all ICAAP members.

Trainings are 10-11:15am CST via Zoom.
