ICAAP, Tri-Town YMCA, and the Villa Park Area Early Childhood Collaborative are hosting a 2-part webinar series entitled Setting a Strong Foundation: Leveraging DuPage County’s Early Childhood Systems. This educational series is free to all pediatricians, family physicians, and pediatric non-physician clinicians working in DuPage County.
Why Early Childhood Matters
The first few years of a child’s life set the course for how that child will grow, learn, develop relationships, and prepare for school. Every experience and opportunity during these initial years are crucial to setting a strong foundation for a healthy future. By appropriately leveraging existing early childhood programs, we can help improve outcomes for all children in DuPage County.

The early childhood systems in Illinois and DuPage county are both robust and complex. This webinar series will provide participants with a firm understanding of early intervention and home visiting services in DuPage County and how these resources and services can be leveraged by providers in to better support of children and families in their care.
Webinar 1: Leveraging Home Visit Programs in DuPage County
Help build brighter futures for little ones across DuPage County by attending our free webinar, dedicated to sharing key information on available home visiting programs, how their models work, what eligibility looks like, and how to make referrals effectively. Together, we can improve outcomes for all kids. Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

- Understand the various home visiting models and programs available in DuPage County and how they support families
- Assess families’ eligibility to various home visiting models
- Understand how to refer a family into home visiting program in DuPage County
Webinar 2: Leveraging Early Intervention Programs in DuPage County
Better support children and their families, help improve health outcomes, and encourage school readiness. Learn more about early intervention programs and future updates, explore ways to better guide families through transition to school-based programs, and learn how to better leverage the referral program. Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Describe the EI system in IL and understand future plans
- Understand medical diagnostics through early intervention Communicate the transition between EI and school-based services
- Utilize practical tips and tricks to leverage EI to support patients and families
- Guide families in monitoring the status of their EI referrals after they have been made by the pediatrician
